"Flap is 5mm short on either side, and magnestvon the side do not connect. I contacted support and they said the side magnets are not designed to close. . so why have them. . why tell us in the description they are there and the flap closes and keeps the weather out? honestly, might as well frameca hole in your door and put a tea towel up"
"Durable, reasonably easy install"
"I had an Hakuna pets dog door installed in a sliding glass door, 8 years ago. It withstood multiple daily uses for 7 years, until the flap started to wear and then, crack and tear. 7 years of giant dog use, before encountering a problem is proof of a durable and high quality product. Obviously the flap is the component that will wear and fail soonest, so that Hakuna pets is selling replacement flaps is great. In a previous home and going back around 15 years ago, I had to buy a whole new door, or use an alternative material for a flap. It was unexpected that the specific door I had, the deluxe aluminium pet door, comes in 2 versions, with 2 different mechanisms for securing the flap to the door. Mine was the older and less straightforward design - version 1. I ordered a V1 replacement flap. It arrived promptly but the top edge of the flap had black trim that was not well secured [see photo], and the overall narrower 'T' shaped wings on the flap did not easily stay secured in the flap holder of the door. It took a number of attempts to get the flap fitted and installed in the door [see photo of white framed dog door] I had it up in the evening but by the morning the flap itself had fallen off, whilst the black trim remained secured in the flap mechanism. I tried without the black trim, the very slight 'T' wings could not hold in the flap holder. I contacted the company who explained that my door was a far older model and that the design of the door and replacement flaps changed a few years ago. So despite having ordered the right model replacement flap, it would not work in my existing door. As this information wasn't clear on the website, they sent me out a whole new door, and gave me a choice of colours! I went with black. It arrived promptly and was a relatively straightforward task to remove the old door. The new door is designed to be installable through a variety of materials and tunnel depths. The screws provided were around 10cm/4" long. As my door was in a sliding glass door, I only needed screws at most 2. 5cm/1" long. Any longer than that, prevents the glass door sliding past it's frame. I therefor had to cut the screws down. I don't own a power tool to do that, so had to have a friend use a hacksaw [see photo]. If at all possible I recommend you use a power tool. Or save yourself an uncomfortable and belabored hacksawing experience and buy the right length screws. yourself. I would highly recommend Hakuna provide screws in a short, medium and long length, to better meet their customers installation needs and reduce frustration and additional expense. Despite these issues, the dog door product quality is excellent. The flap is fully functional and stays securely in place with magnetic closure and trim to help insulate around the door seal. My dogs are happily putting it to use, and I'm enjoying have a dog door without draughts again. If this flap lasts half as long as my previous one before needing to be replaced, I'll be delighted with the durability."
"We installed our Doggy door on the screen door so required a bit of prep work but once it was all setup and done it looks amazing! Functionality and quality is great as it magnets to the bottom panel when they push through the door, saving any insects or squirrels getting inside too. "Just one issue with the design - when installing with the tunnel extender the longer bolts require sawing to length. Very tricky without scuffing the door, and without end caps the bolt ends don’t look great on the outside of the house and will rust. Other than that a well designed door for retrofitting, that I would recommend to others"

"May never know what this door is like. The courier has sent it back to Sydney from Brisbane for the second time, clearly it’s too hard to read an address. Hanukapets say not their problem once it leaves them. Beware you may be wasting your money on a door you wont get while the courier sends parcel back and forth while claiming to be ‘carbon neutral’!"
